Where to kill a couple of hours in Herefordshire/Worcestershire?

I've got a long drive in a couple of weeks, and I'm hoping to have a stop in the Herefordshire/Worcestershire area for an hour or two. It will be a Friday and I'm hoping to miss peak rush hour, so would arrive between 4-5pm, stretch my legs and have a quick and cheapish early dinner before setting off again between 6-7pm. Any ideas much appreciated!

Where are you driving from/to so we can suggest somewhere on your route?

Great Malvern and the hills! 😍

Eat at Bar Limón.

I'm driving from Tenby to Peterborough, avoiding motorways where possible Smile
I like taking the scenic route. Malvern area sounds ideal! Thanks for the recommendation.

Park in the car park at British Camp. Walk up and across the ridge at the top and take in the views. Then back to the car park, pop over the road for a bite to eat in the Malvern Hills Hotel. Book first though.

Upton-on-Severn is just off the M50 and has some lovely riverfront pubs

Another here for Malvern!

Park at Beacon Road car park, walk up the Beacon then pop down into town and eat at Alturo Lounge which will have space and doesn't feel uncomfortable as a lone diner.
It's open all day.

The Nag's head is a lovely pub in Malvern.

@SpiralAgain Out of interest, which route are you going? I could do that route from memory of our road system.

Are you doing Tenby A40 > Brecon > Hay > Worcester > Stratford-upon-Avon > Coventry > Rugby > A14 to Peterborough? The bottleneck used to be at Coventry but the road developments to the east allow you to flow through now.

An alternative is to grab the M69 from Coventry for the short connection to skirt round Leicester to the east and the A47 to Peterborough.

I love our road network and could do Brecon to Peterborough without a map and just sticking to B roads or unclassified roads. I do not know the Tenby to Brecon roads enough to do that from memory though. The picturesque route would be to go from Tewkesbury > Stow-on-the-Wold > Banbury A361 > North Northamptonshire tacking through to Peterborough. Really beautiful countryside all the way if you know it. Would take about 7 hours though...!
