Funeral Songs

Excuse my ignorance.

Does anyone know how you go about getting rare songs played at a funeral please (there are old video clips of the song on YouTube)?

How do you get access to them?

Is this something the funeral director takes care of?

Thanks

I’d speak to the funeral director, there are ways of downloading music from YouTube, or they may be able to play it direct from YouTube on a laptop.

Hi OP I'm a funeral arranger.

it's our responsibility at organise the music for the funeral service. We use a system that has hundreds of thousands of pieces of music stored. If the piece isn't in there we can request it. It must be a commercial (published) piece though, due to copyright laws. The exception is if it's a private recording of a friend or family member on something like an MP3.

Speak to your funeral director and they will clarify if the piece can be used.

Im sorry for your loss.

To add, we can't just take something from You Tube due to the aforementioned copyright laws. Is the piece on Spotify?

Thank you.

That's really helpful.

There's a couple of songs we had in mind so I'm sure one must be available.

We will speak to the funeral directors.
