'I'm putting the bucket on my head"

If someone said this to you, would you think they were putting it on rim up, as if carrying water, or rim down, over their face?

I was at something this morning and someone said he would be putting a bucket on his head (no further context until the actual placing of said bucket as we were interrupted and he had to go do something else) and my mind went one way, and my sister's the other. I'm curious to see which of us has the more convetional thinking 😀

On his head = bucket upright as though carrying water. Over his head = rim down, covering his face.

As a parent of 2 small child, I would go rim first and sit there for a while.

I would think upside-down, like a helmet or hat.

On head = upside-down
On to of head = right way round

Well as I just read that and imagined a person covering their head with a bucket, that's my answer.

I don't know because the title says one thing and the text says another.
The bucket = rim up
A bucket = rim down.

Don't ask me why!

Seems the majority agree with me! I thought Darth Vader style too. My sister and the bucket man both thought I was nuts.
