Anyone here do them? I know there’s a FB group but could do with some more support.

I'm doing the lands end to john o groats one 😁

OrigamiOwls · 30/07/2023 16:13

I'm doing the Pacific Crest trail at the moment

HairyPotter · 30/07/2023 16:25

I started mid May, I’ve done Angkor Wat, Rome and the Flower route. Nearly finished the Amalfi coast then I’m not sure what I’ll go for next. Most likely another similar distance or slightly longer.

What one are you doing at the moment?

Newtrix · 30/07/2023 16:26

I'm doing 2023 one, only started in April though!

MistyMorningMelons · 30/07/2023 16:31

I'm on my second one but I find them uninspiring to be honest. It's just a lot of money for a medal - I don't actually care about where I am on the map/street view etc.

I prefer to do actual virtual events, where you have to submit proof of a 5k/10k within a certain time frame.

I'm currently cheating my way through Camino because it's just too bloody long. I live somewhere very hot so I double all my distances. For heat exhaustion Grin

I made a big mistake by starting with the Appalachian Trail. It's way too long. I've got another one lined up and am wondering whether I should get started on that instead. I know myself and if it feels doable it will get me out of the house for extra walks, but right now I'm feeling completely lacking in inspiration.

That sounds good! I feel like I need to get my imagination into it a bit more to get my motivation up.

I just did it to motivate me to get out every day and set myself a year to do it. I'm like a previous poster though - really not bothered about the view or postcards. I've done race at your pace before but I liked the lejog medal and I'm easily influenced 😂

TyneTeas · 30/07/2023 19:09

I am doing one, the motivation to get out and do a bit regularly to stay ahead of the time/distance percentage works well for me
