Child free day in London

I'm going to see a show near London Bridge on Thursday evening. I've decided to make a day of it, and spend the day up there solo before meeting my friend at 5pm.
Where would you head to? I really like Japanese things, so would love to have something like that for lunch. I'm already planning on heading to the Japan Cente. Thanks!

I would eat downstairs in the Japan Centre. Then head to an exhibition either free like The Rosenfield Gallery or the Hockney experience which I really want to do without my kids.

Then I would mooch for a while around the shops heading in the direction of a rooftop bar for a cocktail and read of my book.
Or go to the British Library to look at the treasures.

Or down near London Bridge we went to the Old Operating Theatre Museum, which was interesting for an hour or so. There is also a big food market down towards the Elephant (Mercato Metrapole). Much quieter than Borough Market (which is worth wander if you haven't been).

Have a great day. (Last time I was waiting for a show I headed up here with a book for an hour or so - although not great weather forecast this week - Waterloo Sky Bar on the H10 Hotel- reasonable prices and no loud music)
