Dla payment help please

Hello, my son was awarded middle rate care 2 years ago, I put his renewal in and just had my acceptance letter this morning.
Dla was paid last week and ended 27.07.2023 previous award
The new award is dated 28.07.2023 - 27.07.2025 which I'm really happy about.

However on the letter it says 'your money is paid from the Wednesday after the first day that you are entitled to this allowance. From and including 02.08.2023 we can pay you £101.75.

Does this mean my next payment will be 4 weeks from the 02.08.2023 and not the date of my payment from my sons previous award?
Hoping somebody here will know as I dont have a clue, thanks.

Should have added, he has been awarded higher rate care this time not middle rate which I'm over the moon about

Thanks just not sure if its 4 weeks from the last payment or 4 weeks from 02.08.2023

I think it means that the new rate is payable from 2/8. So on 23/8 you'll be paid the higher amount but until then you'll receive the old amount on your usual dates.

When I renewed my ds's dla he moved up to higher rate, which was backdated as it took a few months for them to deal with the renewal. His dla was paid on the normal schedule, and the backdated pay was a separate amount that just went in randomly.

Totally unrelated, sorry, but do you out in the new application forms near the time the date runs out or do they send them to you?

They send a renewal a few months before

We have sent our renewal, it’s been received and runs out 7th November. Should I expect to hear on the 7th if I ring them…

I didn't hear from them until a week after Ds's award ended. This was last year June. His new award doesn't end until 2029.

@1daughterand3sons 2029 that’s brilliant news for you isn’t it, Iv just rang and it’s with DM now so fingers crossed I hear before the claim ends for the payments to carry IF re awarded 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hi everyone. My son has been awarded DLA and we have been waiting for his first payment. Phoned today to find out that by an error on their part the wrong account details were entered for his backdated payment. We have been told we will get the payment but not given any sort of time. Has anyone been through anything similar and could give some advice?

I would say they usually take 3-5 working days depending on your bank for the payment to hit… although I could be wrong! So sorry that happened to you! Seems the system is a shambles at the moment.
do you mind me asking what date they scanned your forms?

Hi, im aware this is an old post but hoping you will be able to let me know what happened with your new dates. Im basically in same boat. Feeling confused with the dates. Do we get payment on the date in our letter or is it 4 weeks from then?

I’ve got my renewal and wonder did u all have to wait 4 weeks after for first payment or did it come the week later? My sons has stayed the same but it says your money is paid from the Wednesday after the first day that ur entitled to the allowance. Thanks
