Exhausted more than the norm

Just that really. I often feel tired, but this last week or so has been so extreme. I'm 34, eat healthily, exercise regularly, healthy weight. No real changes I can think of to make things worse. Getting a decent amount of sleep and actually been going to bed super early because I'm just so shattered. My body feels absolutely rinsed of all energy. I've started taking iron and vit b supplements. I don't have periods and haven't had one since I went on the coil over 2 years ago, so it's not heavy periods. I thought it would shift after a couple of days, but if anything is getting worse.

Help. When do I go to the Doctors? I try and avoid at all costs.

Following as I’m the same. It’s not even 8pm and I’ve put the kids to bed and got into bed myself. Been like this the last week. How do you feel otherwise? I’m wondering if there’s a virus going around, although I feel fine other than the extreme tiredness and a sore throat but only when I’m tired? I’m same age as you.

Theimpossiblegirl · 29/07/2023 19:58

I know you don't have to test or isolate but I was like this recently and had Covid again.

Cluelessat33 · 29/07/2023 19:59

@Orangepeg I've felt fine otherwise. No sore throat or anything, just absolutely shattered.

Check your thyroids.

Itslookinggood · 29/07/2023 20:38

Oh, same here….slight cough but nothing else. Just so shattered, been like it for a week

hoping it’s a virus, otherwise get worried about other stuff.

Ohhelpicantthinkofaname · 29/07/2023 20:40

Is it possible you could be pregnant? I know you have the coil, but not unheard of.

DonkeysForCourses · 29/07/2023 20:41

Blood sugar? Covid?

Cluelessat33 · 29/07/2023 20:49

@Ohhelpicantthinkofaname 🤣 it would be an immaculate conception. I can conclusively say there is absolutely no chance of that.

Only way to eliminate some causes would be a blood test, my iron is always borderline low/low, and I’ve got an autoimmune disease with fatigue as the main symptom so I’m always absolutely shattered by 8pm. Get bloods done and see what they say.

Babyluigi · 29/07/2023 20:53

B12 deficiency made me absolutely exhausted, and GP has prescribed injections because it was so low on a blood test.

sunsethorizon · 29/07/2023 20:55

I had this after my first pregnancy, got blood tests done through GP and got diagnosed with underactive thyroid.

AnnieKayTee · 29/07/2023 20:57

I am exactly the same. Full night sleep, wake up utterly exhausted. I go to bed at the latest 9.30pm. Wake around 6ish. Could easily nap in the afternoon. I'm only 35, has been recently aswel, maybe past month?!

DaysofRain · 29/07/2023 21:27

I felt like this for months. It was like walking through treacle. I was just dragging myself around. I thought I had long Covid. Went to the Dr, had bloods done, and it was a B12 deficiency for me too. Mine was ridiculously low. I had a course of 5 B12 injections over 2 weeks and began my road to recovery. It wasn't immediate, took a couple months to get my full energy back. I now have an injection every 12 weeks as I don't appear to be able to absorb B12 through my gut.

Get your bloods checked!
