When we moved into our little 2 up 2 down house 6 years ago, there was a family of 4 living next door. The dad seemed to work part time, you can see the inside of the house is unclean and in quite a sad state, and I wondered how they managed - I didn't think about it for a while as obviously it's really none of my business.

After a while they became incredibly noisy and I think I tried to ignore this because the circumstances seemed pretty hard. During lockdown it got a bit too much and at 7 months pregnant, I snapped, had a row with them and reported them.

I was pleased 6 months ago to see them leave for a couple of weeks. After a couple of weeks however, I saw another bigger family move in. They have similar circumstances, mum looking after kids and dad working part time. They are also incredibly noisy and while English isn't their first language, the shouting can sound quite violent. Like the last family, at least one of them seems to be up through day and night.

As a bit of a petty aside, I'm getting a bit pissed off that they are drying some sort of rug every day by hanging it over our shared fence that my DP and I put up (see attached).

I can't help but wonder if something a bit odd is going on. The other family just disappeared, no to let sign went up and the more kids seem to be appearing every week.

It may all be perfectly innocent and just council owned or something but sometimes I do feel a bit uneasy about it.

Shall I just ignore?

Who did you report the first lot to?

Just ask these lot to not put the rug over the fence please

I reported them to the council. Ideally, I wish I had the landlord details but haven't managed to find them.
