I’ve had a bloody long week at work. Mentally drained and I’m staying in! Thoroughly enjoying having no plans.

Currently lying on the settee, eating crisps with a glass of wine. I’ll be up soon to make a cup of tea and eat some home made brownies before returning to this very spot.

Feel free to share your plans

Toddler in bed. Sitting on the couch with a glass of wine watching a film with my husband. Can't wait for Autumn nights and all the good telly to come back on

FatCatatPaddingtonStation · 29/07/2023 20:45

I am trying to go to bed! DP is ill in bed. I cooked for me and the DC - 2 different meals because it seemed easier than arguing! DS has been gaming in his room loudly chatting to his friends (real friends but online). DD, who has ADHD (11) has seized the advantange of being one parent down by having a mammoth meltdown. I got cross with her which never helps…. I was up at 7 and haven’t stopped all day. Anyway, she has calmed now and is sitting with me watching Malory Towers. She has had her melatonin and whilst she won’t sleep for hours, she will be happy to go and settle in her room shortly. And then I am going to bed.

Oh and I had a smoothie for supper because I didn’t want pizza or pasta, the kids choices, and my body weight in strawberries,

FatCatatPaddingtonStation · 29/07/2023 20:47

I like the idea of Barn owl watching. DD is animal mad, and I’ve promised her badger watching but need to figure out where to go. I used to go in the woods at summer camp; we used to climb trees at night and would see them - it was magical but I haven’t a clue where to start.

Ohhelpicantthinkofaname · 29/07/2023 20:48

Back from beach just before 8. Had tea, now in the bath. Lovely.

hayu19 · 29/07/2023 20:50

Both DC in bed by 7:30, laying on the sofa with a bottle of red and a huge bar of dairy milk

pastypirate · 29/07/2023 20:52

This is day one of our holiday. I'm just waiting for dd2 to have a shower then we are watching men in black 3. Booked an attraction tomorrow as it was heavily discounted.
Dd1 reading and happily ignoring us.

NeverThatSerious · 29/07/2023 20:52

Mine is a bit pants to be honest. I’ve an infected tooth (jaw?) so my face is blown up on one side, I’m feeling sick on mega strong antibiotics and a bit spacey on painkillers, watching sons of anarchy (again) and eating cookie dough ice cream very carefully 🤣
DH has gone to a wedding party. I was meant to go but y’know, face.

Rainbow1901 · 29/07/2023 20:59

Had a brew and a chat earlier with my neighbour, then popped out to pick up a 2 Good 2 Go bag on the way to check on my daughters house as they are away for a few days.
Then back home to share the spoils from the 2good2go bag with DH along with a shandy watching Fantastic Beasts on Netflix! Spoils are 6 Bread Rolls, Large box of Mushrooms, Huge Ham Roll, Chicken Caesar Salad and a Hoisin Duck Wrap. Not bad for £3.50 😋

riotlady · 29/07/2023 21:02

Lying on the sofa with a box of tissues as I have a cold. DH is at work and DD is asleep so will watch a bit of 24 Hours in A and E and get an early night

Jellykat · 29/07/2023 21:04

Sat here by myself as i do every night, which is ok.. Sewing and watching Blur on telly.. waiting for the Sinead O' Connor documentary and drinking tea.

Whattheduck · 29/07/2023 21:09

On the sofa with the dog snoring next to me whilst I catch up on Eastenders
Just going to have a coffee and some dairy milk
I have fresh bedding and the bed to myself as Dh working away so looking forward to bedtime

Dreamersdontdie · 29/07/2023 21:21

Didn't long get back from a friends with DC's. Had a quick super cheap tea of coop bargains, yo sushi and stir fry veg. It's DS's turn to choose the film, so it's Rampage with The Rock! Suitably ridiculous as he plays a primatologist yer clearly spends several hours in the gym every day, and says that he is lonely Batchelor who hangs out with his dog all day.
Dd is colouring a page of her Frida Kahlo colouring book. In a minute I'll serve raspberry's (also reduced) with mini marshmallows and cream. It's a Saturday night fave!
Each Saturday night of the past six months has felt heavenly since their dad left. So calm and so much less stressful. Usually at this time we would be walking on eggshells and he would have drunk most of a bottle of wine plus beers. We would all have to tiptoe around him until midday on the Sunday too.

Judellie · 29/07/2023 21:29

Had an extremely late tea of my Healthy Extras so a wholemeal roll with cheese triangles and cucumber plus a tin of beans, after I'd had a fight with the tin opener to get into it! I thought I would be ok having no tea but obviously hadn't eaten enough as started to get a bad head.
Now eating a bag of Revels and browsing mumsnet. Remembered that I hadn't finished changing my bed so just nipped up to do that.
DH is on the phone to his friend, teenage DS is in the bath and teenage DD is in her room, we played dominoes, ludo and scrabble earlier.
The idea was to go on a bike ride with dd today but Halfords had missed me out so the bike should have been ready today but I won't get it til tomorrow afternoon now. Hoping the weather stays dry!

egowise · 29/07/2023 21:31

Watching good omens, nachos with a new delicious recipe for the cheese and a cheapish glass or two of wine. Being annoying snuggled by the cat, he's very full on hahaha

UserRose · 29/07/2023 21:47

Watching Ted Lasso for the fourth time 😃crisps and a cup of tea, cat on my lap = Happy

Namechangedforthis25 · 29/07/2023 21:49

halfheartedly convincing DD4 to go to bed because we have given up - whilst baby is still awake - whilst trying to watch snippets of slow horses on Apple TV with a glass of wine.

such is life

still better than weeknights

NancyJoan · 29/07/2023 21:50

DS and I are flying solo this weekend, DH and DD are at a festival. I’ve had a lovely day pottering, cleaning, chucking stuff etc. I’ve changed the beds, and just washed the kitchen floor, which means I’m now trapped in the sitting room until it dries. Have got a cup of tea, and will read the paper for a while then go to bed in my clean bed. Honestly, it’s the stuff dreams are made of.

Newgolddream70 · 29/07/2023 21:51

DS with his Dad tonight so stupidly decided to rewatch Dirty John / Betty Broderick story and now feeling utterly depressed 🙈😂 might have to find some comedy to watch before bed

toochesterdraws · 29/07/2023 22:02

DH is out performing, the dc are at a party and I'm here on my tod. I ate yesterday's leftover spag bol for tea, have washed up, put a load of laundry on, bought some stamps off ebay, fed the cats and am now drinking coffee, browsing MN and listening to a raucous party in a garden across the way. If they don't shut up soon I might have to go and join in.😂

MysweetAudrina · 29/07/2023 22:11

Lovely to see in other peoples windows :). In my bed with dd15 and 2 ddogs. Heading to Greece on Monday so spent today packing and repacking and buying last minutes clothes. Had a late dinner and pears and ice cream for dessert. Poor older ddog is really sad as he knows we are going away and he is stuck to me.

ThreeRingCircus · 29/07/2023 22:31

We went over to MIL's for dinner and had lamb chops with new potatoes and veg. I had red wine and chatted to MIL in the garden with DH and DD's played.

Home, late bedtime for DD's (they're only 6 and 4) and then DH and I have watched Long Lost Family and eaten some chocolate. Now to bed to read my new book.

SirChenjins · 29/07/2023 22:34

Ready meal (nice one), glass of wine, telly, chocolate, sofa with the dog and DH.

DelilahBucket · 29/07/2023 22:39

Laid up with a severely sprained ankle so fakeaway tea, prosecco and a couple of episodes of The OA. Now I'm sufficiently freaked out, DH is watching formula one.

AdoraBell · 29/07/2023 22:49

Just back from cinema, saw Mission Impossible. Had early dinner in local Italian restaurant.

2004bestyear · 29/07/2023 22:49

Drinking red wine and watching Blur on BBC2
