As the weather is so rubbish I'm thinking of using my summer annual leave to do a spooky tour with my nieces. Any suggestions of places you have been to?
Thanks

I haven't actually been but Pluckley in Kent is supposedly the most haunted village in the UK

The tour of the old underground city in Edinburgh was very creepy.

National Trust properties are supposed to be good for this! Here's a link: www.nationaltrust.org.uk/visit/houses-buildings/most-haunted-places-to-visit

Mary King's Close in Edinburgh is pretty creepy.

Not so much 'Woo', but I always get an eerie feeling when I'm at both Glencoe and Culloden

Not much help but the creepiest place was a 12c Priory which had been converted into a house and was up for sale. I viewed it with the intention of buying it to live in but when I went up the back stairs I to the attic bedrooms I couldn’t wait to leave. This was 10am on a summers day. I thought if it was creepy in sunshine what would it be like at 10pm in November? I wouldn’t want to go up there so why should I expect my kids to have their bedrooms up there?

Funnily enough, the lady who bought my house had also viewed the Priory and felt the same. Apparently her 4yr old son had started to cry and said he didn’t like it up there, so she left.

Hampton Court, especially the corridor leading to the Chapel.

Katherine Howard's ghost allegedly runs down there screaming for Henry VIII when she is being arrested for Treason. He hid in the Chapel and heard her.

Chillingham Castle, Northumberland

Galleries of Justice in Nottingham , found that creepy.

Bolsover Castle has a ghost of the Grey Lady.
Quite a few cities in the UK have ghost walks.

The tour of the old underground city in Edinburgh was very creepy.

I was at a wedding in one of the vaults whilst a tour was going on in the one next door. When we were outside getting some fresh air it was hilarious how scared the people looked while we were completely undisturbed by ghosts next door!

Edinburgh City of the Dead tour that goes to Greyfriars Kirkyard is extremely spooky.

Seconding several already mentioned.

Edinburgh (best ghost tours in the UK). York. Chillingham Castle. Bodmin Jail. London. Bath. Look up the history before you decide.

Any hospital that was once a workhouse. Lots and lots in northern England. Any old mills in Northern England. The crypt at Durham Cathedral.

And personally I find some parts of Tredegar House near Newport absolutely spook ridden. But then if you believe in ghosts you'll know they're pretty much all around us all the time, just on a different frequency as it were....

And if you'd like to stay home and be scared, you could always look up something like Alan Robson's ghost channel on YouTube.

The German underground hospital on Jersey.

I have read about the ghostly figure of an apparently 1920s-style young male tennis player being seen walking along the path next to the indoor tennis courts.

The Skirrid Inn near Abergavenny. Used in the past as a court room and they hung people there. Loads of history on line.
you can stay there and they do ghost hunts.
