Mattresses for side sleepers

Since having children 15 years ago I’ve been a side sleeper.
I suffered from lower back pain when sleeping so thought my old mattress was ready for a replacement. Bought a new expensive mattress as was fed up with the pain and it’s been exactly the same - waking with lower back pain in the early hours.
I’m ready to take the plunge and buy another bed and mattress but reluctant to spend another £2000 and be no better off.
Any advice? Thanks

I was just wondering if you have you done anything else about your lower back pain?

At work recently we had a talk from a physio who was saying that a mattress is very unlikely to be the cause of back pain.

Sleeping with a pillow between your knees can help take some strain off your lower back.

Also as it coincides with having children, might be worth considering whether you have an anterior pelvic tilt. I definitely do since having my DS, and the only thing that helps my lower back pain is yoga / stretches and trying to correct my posture.
