I used to subscribe to Smol a while ago. I loved the eco friendliness of the brand and the fact I could order it to my door. However, the subscription didn't suit me and I stopped. I've now finished my bottle of spray though and you can't order another tablet on it's own, you have to subscribe all over again and get a new bottle, which defeats the entire point really doesn't it? Similarly, I'd like to buy the laundry pods but don't want to subscribe as I found I was accumulating them faster than using them and changing the subscription was too much work. I'm trying to be eco but I'm also lazy! (and don't see the point in a brand with a waste-free ethos promoting you buying more than you need but that's by the by)

Has anybody found any alternatives for eco friendly and sustainable cleaning sprays and laundry tablets? I really am trying to do my bit, but it's hard!

I like Splosh for cleaning sprays, laundry etc. You just order what you need - they do sell bottles too, but you can use bottles you already have.

IhearyouClemFandango · 28/07/2023 21:34

Just buy a pack of tablets, start a new subscription or whatever. You don't need to buy any bottles.

IhearyouClemFandango · 28/07/2023 21:34

For Smol that is.

Yeah, you can't! Nowhere on my account does it allow me to buy the tablets or subscribe to the tablets without getting the bottle first. I imagine because it's been so long so they think I don't have one, but I do!

Another vote for splosh. You can subscribe and save or just ad hoc purchase

RuthTopp · 28/07/2023 21:35

Are Smol not plastic pods , so not good for your machine , nor the environment ?

stayclosetoyourself · 28/07/2023 21:36

' Method' concentrate - you just put a capful in to the old bottle and add water. Super easy got it in the whole food shop

stayclosetoyourself · 28/07/2023 21:37

I use Ecover for laundry - refill in the whole food shop

But for smol you don't need another starter set, just an order of all purpose spray tablets.
However I do find it annoying that with smol each order is separate which I do find a bit if a pain to deal with - for eg I kept getting three grey bottles of fabric softener really often and took me ages to find the account and change it.

Why can't I find this? In my account, I can't see a link to this anywhere, just the one with the bottle. Do you have a direct link? I swear I'm not usually this thick!

The votes for Splosh are intersting. They don't sell that in my town but they do a town over so that could be good for me

Tesco do this which you could make up in your bottle

I found smol laundry pods in sainsburys recently, not sure if they sell the rest of the range but it might be an option if you like the product without the subscription.

Thethingswedoforlove · 28/07/2023 22:02

Splosh is online op. Free delivery. I have used for a few years now and am impressed with the quality of their products.

If you go in to an e mail, then to log in, once in at the top left are three lines click on that and the Dropbox contains ' smol shop' which has the spray tablets listed for £8.60

stayclosetoyourself · 28/07/2023 22:04

Great!!

User3735 · 28/07/2023 22:21

You can pause the subscription too, I had to do this when I couldn't work out how to cancel my subscription, but last time I had to amend mine they must have made it easier because I managed to cancel the paused ones. Sometimes I need to increase my subscription and then if I build up a stockpile I reduce it again. I've definitely bought the tablets as one offs. Although I'm a cleaner and I no longer buy the re-fills, I just use dish soap for most cleaning and concentrated zoflora in the Smol bottles for anything that needs disinfecting. Most cleaning sprays are unnecessary and just create streaks.

Another vote for Splosh. I really like the products and it is very convenient. Plus you can return the plastic pouches to them for recycling (no longer free sadly, but much better than them ending up in landfill).
