A very minor question for anyone who has lived in, or knows about Australia

My youngest son is currently obsessed with "Little Lunch" on Netflix. My question is, what is little lunch? Google tells me that it is morning break. The programme mentions that a lot can happen in fifteen minutes. This suggests that it is the short mid morning break. However, the children eat whole boxes of food at little lunch. This makes it sound like it is their meal break in the middle of the day, so it is dinner time. Can anyone enlighten me?

Little Lunch is morning tea! In my day it might have been a couple of biscuits, and some fruit, maybe a yoghurt. Go outside, eat, run around and play a bit, then go back to class.

Sounds like what we used to call elevenses.
But I remember some girls at my school calling their morning break snacks ‘lunch’ - this was in the U.K., so evidently not just an Aussie thing.

Little lunch = morning tea break, 20 minutes or so snack and play
Big lunch= lunch time, longer break.

Most schools don't do catered hot lunches ( school dinners) and you bring a packed lunch, and snack. There is sometimes a tuckshop, but may not be open every day; and say 1 day a week you can order a treat lunch, like a meat pie or sausage roll similar.

Aww I love little lunch!

As PPs have said, little lunch is morning break but on the show I think often the action takes place at big lunch (lunch/dinner time) eg the sausage sizzle while the girls are having from the monkey bars, or when Rory goes to the milkbar

Thank you everyone. I think I understand now. I think you are right HeyMickey. It causes Rory a problem when he forgets his lunch box, and Atticus gets really grumpy when he does not like the food his Yaya packs for him. It must sometimes be morning break and sometimes be dinner time. I love Mrs Gonsha.
