Holiday abroad

Hello all,

I'm just after some recommendations for a holiday abroad, I have a bit of a criteria as this year is not the one for weather LOL.

I'm going with my 6 year old so something to entertain him would be great, however we aren't 'stay by the pool all day' type of people, we like to do different activities and experiences...also I don't want to put him in a kids club so they won't be needed, I have to give up 50% of my time with him to his dad so I want to spend every second with him while we are away.

Obviously I'm thinking Europe? He's never been on a plane before so didn't want to go too far for his first time.

What do you like doing?? Are you city people or active outdoorsy?

OP, there is no such place as "abroad", even when you confine your destination to mainland Europe, there is so much difference and variety. In addition to what you have told us, are you looking for beaches or countryside, castles or amusements. Hot or north Europe temperatures (although that is a bit up in the air at the moment), kiddies rock pools or bigger adventures?
