So America are saying that UFOs and aliens exist?

Like wtf.

I’ve been watching videos of the senate hearing and they’re interviewing ex intelligence agents saying they have seized crashed aircraft which had non human biological remains (aka aliens) in it.

are these intelligent agents bonkers crackpots or is this actually true?

I felt like I was watching a spoof.

My grandparents swore they saw UFOs in the 1950's in a rural, seaside setting. They said they witnessed them flying at huge speeds and changing direction in an instant. They were both very quiet churchgoing teetotallers their whole lives and told nobody outside the family.
I wonder personally if they might perhaps be future humankind who has discovered the ability to time travel, yet looks on Homo Sapiens Sapiens as we might look upon Homo Erectus?

So a bit like the ancients that were ascended beings from the show stargate ?

I've only seen the film, but yes something like that.

Time to develop some new next generation military hardware

GulfCoastBeachGirl · 28/07/2023 00:21

They're likely always testing new military aircraft and would rather the public think that there have been UFO sightings instead of admitting to what's being developed and tested.

We'd probably never sleep at night if we knew what new and "imaginative" war machines were being developed and tested on a regular basis. Better to ponder little green men, tbh.

@EmmaEmerald Is that why he's giving some information (I've only seen one person speaking) but then saying the answers to other questions he can't give as it's classified?

I think so
some classifications expire after x number of years and some don't.

this might seem unrelated but mentions planes dropping chemicals and it seems to be the case that Norman Baker MP pushed for fuller information

I think some people equate UFO with alien, but I tend to just imagine that lights etc are planes from government/army activity that's being kept secret.

I'm still awake so I might as well have googled Rendlesham 😂

Millions were in germ war tests

The Ministry of Defence turned large parts of the country into a giant laboratory to conduct a series of secret germ warfare tests on the public.

I didn't realise that link would come out so huge!

We imagine little green men, but reality is well oiled armies in the galaxies

Unlikely that we are alone in the universe.

But

It’s taken this Planet well over 4 billion years to evolve intelligent life that has just about made it to the nearest rock, not even a planet.

Even if some planet has intelligent life with the impossible capabilities of travelling at the speed of light, it would take them like 9 billion years to get here from the nearest galaxy.

So they must have left a long time ago to catch us right now.

So the agent can’t talk about evidence of aliens because it’s classified. Talking about crashed aliens is not classified. Go figure.

Must have learned not to trust the TfL journey planner app. I've always said the countdowns are in TfL minutes, not Earth ones.

Do you think they remembered to check they'd switched the cooker off and went for a wee before leaving in time to catch the 09000000000:12:47 Number 73 Intergalactic Express Service to 3rd Outer Spiral Arm, , ensuring that it wasn't a Wednesday, because ships don't stop here on Wednesdays?

HaveYouHeardOfARoadAtlas · 28/07/2023 07:30

But I suppose a couple of hundred years ago people in Australia would have said it wasn’t possible for someone from the U.K. to get there in 24 hours. They had no concept of planes and would have thought about journey times in boat time. So maybe the aliens have something we have no concept of.

There have probably being coming for millions of years. They could be dropping into out our atmosphere to refuel etc.

We don't know everything it's just part of our evolution.

If we get 100% confirmation they are visiting and out there, nothing will change day to day it is just we know that interstellar travel is a reality.

It's always America. No doubt they're distracting from something else. Anyone one seen Biden recently?

Wrong way round. The Republicans are in charge of the House. If Biden were AWOL they'd be shouting it to the rafters and claiming this is proof he's senile. No, they're having UFO hearings because the party is run by the same people who finally decided Marjorie Taylor Greene was too nutty even for the Freedom Caucus (the hard right group). I'm not sure what they want to distract from exactly, maybe Trump indictments.

BeaumontLivingston · 28/07/2023 07:55

Or are they going to pretend using high tech holograms so they can scare the planet into accepting a total police state?

Just keep a laser on hand and if you see anything the laser will bounce off if it's real but go right through if it's not.

I have no doubt there is life on other planets. In an infinite universe the idea that life in any form exists only on earth is ridiculous.

I just find it hard to believe any species capable of travelling the great distances required would waste their time on this shithole of a planet with its warlike apes wrecking the place.

What do you mean? Why wouldn't an intelligent species be interested in a planet full of idiots? Game reserves, slavery, food, labour. We're extremely useful if dealt with in the right way.

This is what we think, thanks to films etc. But surely, if they have the capability to get here, I imagine they might have moved on from all that. I figure they are just interested in us or exploring, much as we did all those years ago.

IncompleteSenten · 27/07/2023 21:21

Or maybe old Douglas had it right

"Teasers are usually rich kids with nothing to do. They cruise around looking for planets that haven't made interstellar contact yet and buzz them, meaning that they find some isolated spot with very few people around, then land right by some poor unsuspecting soul whom no one's going to believe and then strut up and down in front of him wearing silly antennas on their head and making beep beep noises"
😁

Actually that's Bill Hicks describing smalltime comedians.

I'd class myself as a fairly intelligent individual. But I believe in Aliens. There could possibly be millions of planets out there, and I'm sure some of them have lifeforms on them. Whether they come to visit us in Spacecraft is an entirely different matter though.

Aliens might have completely different aesthetic standards. They might think the Lake District is horrid and some rundown industrial estate on the edge of Birmingham is delightful.

My own UFO experience was in the Lake District.

It was a repeated streak of light in the same distant patch of sky, stayed there steadily for an hour, streaking the same way. (As if a circular craft were on a tilt, and lights were circling around the outside of it, almost comically classic UFO style, so the "streak" came round to the front each time)

I got my husband and my dad out to see it too, all of us completely stumped.

Hope it doesn't turn out that the aliens were watching back and decided they didn't like the look of the locals.

(serious answer: it's a very popular place for military training and test flights, and we get all manner of fun aircraft around - must have been a special edition!)

AccidentallySuckedTheStrippersDick · 28/07/2023 08:47

My DH reads a great deal of out of uk news sources and he says that America is on the outs. The rest of the world could easily follow it. Homelessness is out of control, raging drug problem, ever increasing debts etc. he thinks the aliens things are being released now to detract from the fact Bidens son has been trading illegally with China for the last 5 years despite USA sanctioning them publicly and they are losing in the Ukraine. So he thinks this is a typical distraction.

I know quite a lot of people that are investing more heavily in gold and silver instead of typical investment funds like stocks and shares. There is definitely a big change coming.

HeBeaverandSheBeaver · 28/07/2023 08:59

What if they don't need time

What if they can travel in time zones Jump zones Travel at the speed of light or faster.

There are a thousand and one things we dont understand about science. It wasn't that long ago humans thought the world was flat.

We only developed flying machines in the last hundred years ( and a bit)

So
I totally believe.

And the weird thing is
covid happened

Then putin invaded Ukraine
I said I would not be suprised at all if the next thing was aliens

And here we are.

TheWayoftheLeaf · 28/07/2023 09:00

Non human could just mean animal...

TheWayoftheLeaf · 28/07/2023 09:03

@thecatsthecats tbh at could've just been a satélite though

IWFH · 28/07/2023 09:19

It's worth remembering that sometimes people lie, or make things up, or misinterpret something they've seen, or have a hallucination. Or did I mention that sometimes people lie?

Clearly it is possible that aliens exist.
Clearly it is also possible that Boris Johnson didn't go to any parties.

Even if something is discussed in a formal government legislative setting, it may still be complete bollocks.

thecatsthecats · 28/07/2023 09:21

TheWayoftheLeaf · 28/07/2023 09:03

Sure, but living where we do, we see them a lot - planes, jets, satellites, freaky helicopters, you name it.

(reminds me of when the Blue Angels were doing a display over San Francisco and my boss asked why I wasn't gawping like everyone else - I just wasn't that phased because I'm used to seeing aircraft fly much lower and closer in practice because where I grew up is classed as uninhabited)

This was definitely different from the norm. I stand by an alien deciding that none of us were worth probing :D

I agree.

I think it’s very naive to think out of the entire solar system we’re the only planet with life.

I’m not sure if they would look like humans but you only have to look at animals like giraffes, octopuses or most things in the ocean to see how weird and wonderful they are and they could easily come from a different planet.

I just hope if we do find life we’re not going to capture them and do tests on them or enslave them.
