Would you make a public complaint about this?

Family of 4 having a meal out:

-told 10 minutes after ordering that one of the meals is no longer available
-further 15 minute wait for all the meals to arrive
-meals arrive with a side order from 2 of the meals missing (which is then brought out when staff are told)
-can hear swearing coming from the kitchen staff (sat next to kitchen)

Waitress and manager apologise but no reduction on bill offered.

Would you then write a bad review of the restaurant?

If the food was tasty, I wouldn’t be doing anything.
If the service was bad, I’d just make a mental note not to go there again.

25 mins for the whole family's meal is fine? Always annoying when they don't tell you in advance what's off but perhaps they'd just run out. Staff swearing is crap, maybe point out they can be heard.

Was this a Harvester?

continentallentil · 27/07/2023 19:04

25 mins wait is ok in a busy slot

If the food was ok I don’t see what you have to complain about - dishes do sometimes run out.

The swearing isn’t ideal, so you could write a review about that if you can really be arsed

Hannahsbananas · 27/07/2023 19:07

Why is 25 minutes such an issue for you?
Any place that sticks the food in front of you any quicker has just shoved it in a microwave 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hannahsbananas · 27/07/2023 19:08

And there was no reduction on the bill due to you, btw…

xyz111 · 27/07/2023 19:10

I hate it when my meal arrives quickly after I've ordered. You know it's just been microwaved. 25 mins is fine to wait for freshly cooked food

Scotlander72 · 27/07/2023 19:12

Thanks everyone.

We went out with family, it was our treat. Apart from the swearing (which the staff were very apologetic about) I thought we'd had a lovely time but one family member has written a lengthy negative review about the whole experience.

Just wondered if I was missing something. Dont think I'll bother treating them again.

I don’t see anything to complain about. I think a family member is being precious about the treat you did for them.

WTFAreYouForReal · 27/07/2023 19:15

Yes I would. I've got no qualms about leaving a bad review if somewhere deserves one.

My local fb page is full of shit. Apparently people aren't allowed to leave bad reviews on there, only good ones so it's just full of the same people blowing smoke up their same mates arses again and again. I'd have more time for that page if they allowed honest reviews.

WhatADrabCarpet · 27/07/2023 20:08

No I wouldn't.
If you go to most restaurants your food is heated up and the kitchen staff just 'present' it.

It takes 15-20 minutes.

If you go to a more pricey restaurant then you're probably waiting for the food to be cooked from scratch.

Give them a break.

Can you make and serve a lasagne in 20 minutes?

BoobyDazzler · 27/07/2023 20:10

I probably wouldn’t have even been too bothered about any of that tbt.

Ah that's a shame - I expect it's a "them " thing - don't let it leave a bad taste over your actual meal!

eatdrinkandbemerry · 27/07/2023 21:05

I wouldn't be impressed with the swearing but I would address that there and then not on a review!
Everything else is okay
