Liverpool eating out

Know Liverpool fairly well but haven't been for a meal out there since before Covid so wondering where is good - got a weekend away there in a nice hotel coming up.

Reasonable budget, but looking for good well cooked food, a cocktail and a nice not too lairy atmosphere.

Sooo many good restaurants.
I really like panoramic. It's on the pricey side but stunning views of the city and they do a really nice tasting menu

GolgafrinchamB · 27/07/2023 16:36

Head to Bold Street, have a wander and see what appeals to you?

Hbh17 · 27/07/2023 16:40

I hated Panoramic - food was underwhelming and restaurant full of wannabes.
The Art School by the Philharmonic Hall is probably the best restaurant in Liverpool - fantastic food.
More casual would be The Quarter in the same area.
Bouchon at the end of Castle Street is a nice French brasserie. Or try their sister restaurant, Baccaro, for Italian small plates.

Berthatydfil · 27/07/2023 16:41

The Pen Factory - not cheap but great food

Maddy70 · 27/07/2023 17:15

I second the art school

Maray - Bold Street
Lunya - Hanover Street

AgathaSpencerGregson · 27/07/2023 18:10

Another vote for Maray, although I usually go to the one at the Albert dock

Restlessinthenorth · 27/07/2023 18:20

If you like steak, CowShed. Alternatively get to Baltic Market where you can all eat whatever you fancy

bigbadbarry · 27/07/2023 18:21

I like salt house tapas. I really like Etsu for excellent Japanese, too

Fiddlerdragon · 27/07/2023 18:22

Walk down bold street and pick which one you like the look of

Pandaandpurple · 27/07/2023 18:28

Lots of good choices here, I’d second Bacaro and also Duke St Market.

NordVeg · 27/07/2023 18:29

I'd second Mowgli

Sparkletastic · 27/07/2023 18:34

I'd third Mowgli

iamme21 · 27/07/2023 19:03
