Best environmentally friendly toilet roll. 🧻

I’ve been getting Who Gives a Crap for a number of years now but I wondered if it’s time for a change.

Do any of you have any suggestions or products you prefer in the ‘green’ loo roll market?

Any of the basics / smart price type brands tend to be recycled, AFAIK. And work out a fraction of brands such as Who Gives a Crap. that said the packaging is plastic... so maybe less environmentally friendly. As a humble sort of person I find them fine to use, but maybe others wouldn't agree. I do think most loo roll is a monumental rip off TBH hence always buying the basics brands always.

I get Cheeky Panda Bamboo toilet roll, from Amazon. It's about 50p a roll on subscription. Definitely not the cheapest but I find it good quality without being thick and padded and breaks down quickly so less likely to cause problems with the drains (private and beyond)

It comes in packs of 9, in a paper wrapping that is excellent for using as pre bin storage for paper and card recycling as it can all go in together

I like Serious Tissues. They aren’t the cheapest, but are all Uk recycled paper rather than the Chinese grown and shipped bamboo for WGAC. Also they aren’t wrapped so no extra paper there. You can choose your subscription plan easily and change it too.
they plant trees for each sale too which I like.

A bidet or one of those shower attachments by the toilet to clean you, then small washable cotton towels to dry off.

Genuine question: what do you do with the soiled cloth?

And will you be paying to refit my bathroom? In the meanwhile I’ll continue to use paper.

It’s the shipping from China that’s making me rethink WGAC. What I’ve read about Serious Tissue though is that the tube is big and loosely wound which means that the roll is smaller than other brands.

You don't need to refit a bathroom to add a "bum gun" it literally is a small shower hose that attaches to the incoming water valve that feeds the toilet cistern. You usually just unscrew the feed pipe going in and attach a T piece, one for the toilet and one for the gun.

You can also get bidet toilet seats, again, it does not require a bathroom refit. They were trying to be helpful. It might be worth looking into unless you are dead set on still using toilet roll, but you asked for environmentally friendly options.
