Isn’t all chocolate Halal? (Sorry that’s not answering the question, but hopefully bounces your post up for you.)

Halal is descriptor of how animals are slaughtered isn't it?
Why isn't chocolate halal?

I think you’re misunderstanding ‘halal’.

MoralOrLegal · 26/07/2023 20:59

"Halal" means "allowed" (as opposed to "haram" which is "forbidden"). Not just meat!

Some chocolate contains alcohol, or colouring derived ultimately from pigs (honestly!) and that would be haram.

Unfortunately I don't have direct experience to answer the OP.

Yes, but it’s not difficult to avoid chocolate with alcohol and/or pork gelatine.

Many moons ago the Thornton's classic range (not continental) was vegetarian and alcohol free, I don't know about now because they don't have shops with staff anymore and just sell online/in supermarkets

Rainiestsummer · 26/07/2023 23:46

Any vegetarian, non-alcoholic chocolate should do the trick?

TRexTara · 26/07/2023 23:54

Most of it is halal. Just make sure it doesn't have alcohol in it. Go to M&S.

EmmaBridgewaterMugs · 26/07/2023 23:58

Go to Hotel Chocolat and explain what you want and they will help you.

AnaBananas · 27/07/2023 08:14

As long as there is no alcohol in it, it should be fine. It should be suitable for vegetarians.

Booja booja has some halal chocolate, the only ones that aren’t halal are the coffee based chocolates and the champagne truffles. Their dark chocolate is very nice.
