Local authority cooking courses or similar

i would like to learn some cooking skills. DH normally does our cooking but would really like to go back to basics.

I know there used to be evening classes in local colleges but cannot seem to find anything. Don’t mind the cost too much but nothing too complex at least to start with!

Has anyone got any suggestions please?

In my borough, evening classes have massively been cut back in the last 10 years or so, and the college in my nearest town has been closed down.

However, I just had a Google, and Rhett have a "feed your family for a fiver" course starting in the autumn at the main college in the main town. The cause was hiding under "hospitality" though!

Rhett? Tony know who he is! I meant "they".

Google your local authority, or look up on YouTube- or other sites- I Iove Italian style food and watch Sip and Feast on YouTube, it’s an Italian American man doing simple recipes, very easy to follow.

I'm not sure if WEA have listed all their autumn courses yet so it might be worth checking back over the next month or so in case more are added.

Eg this one is described as a "taster" session so I would imagine there might be a longer course planned for later in the year:

I don't even like BBQs but I'm tempted by this one now I've looked it up!

We will be cooking together to make a healthy summery two course dinner that is low in cost but high in taste.
