Retraining to be a Speech and Language Therapist?

Hi all, I am considering retraining to be a SALT I wondered if any current SALT had any advice or insight into their career. From my research it seems like the large majority of SALT say they love their job and find it highly rewarding, which is great to hear!

I'd love to hear whether you work with adults or children and how you find it.

I'm a paediatric speechie, and absolutely love my job. I'm much happier now I'm independent - I left the NHS a few years ago and honestly worry about the wellbeing of my ex colleagues. There's such a shortage of SLTs (1 in 4 jobs vacant, apparently) so the pressure is huge. It's a fantastic job though - go for it!
