Person a need the loo says they are too uncomfortable to sleep.. person b replies I know but it’s only a few more minutes. What does I know mean how can you know someone else feelings.

'I know' could mean I heard what you said but I don't want you to disturb me by going to the loo. So B's wants are more important to B than A's needs. Would that make sense?

Eh? Person B could say, I know, because they know what it feels like to be that desperate for a wee? No clue

DH will sometimes talk at me when I'm drifting off and honestly I come out with weird answers because I'm half asleep and my brain hasn't really understood what he said.

Does A need B's permission to get up for the toilet?

I think 'I know' means - I have previously tried to sleep I need the toilet so I understand.
