... What else will I love? Have some annual leave and need something to binge watch after finishing all seasons of Jonathan Creek.

The Mentalist is fun. Based on Sherlock Holmes (aren't they all!) , the lead actor is fab, nice cosy murder type show!

Took a couple to really get into but then binge watched it all!

I'd say Shakespeare & Hathaway (BBC) and McDonald & Dodds (ITV) have a similar vibe. Britbox is a good source for these kinds of shows, you can sign up for a free 7 day trial still, I think.

Bones

Maybe Agatha Raisin?

The Detectorists. It’s not a murder mystery but it has a similar very British feel.

ApocalypseNowt · 25/07/2023 13:25

Death in Paradise is a good one as well

ChocolateHelps · 25/07/2023 13:29

Black Mirror on Netflix. British scary mystery...a bit like Tales of the unexpected. Need quite a strong nerve but I remember some of the Jonathan creek ones were quite scary!

Dexter. American series though but has the wit and mystery. But it doesn't have the same format as JC with each episode being new.

I was really late to McDonald & Dodds (as in, only binged it a couple of weeks ago) but really enjoyed it. Jason Watkins is an exceptional actor.

Professor X is similarly British/a bit silly.

DarkDarkNight · 25/07/2023 13:35

Monk. A bit silly, but good fun.

Catspyjamas17 · 25/07/2023 13:37

Midsomer Murders, Murder She Wrote and Columbo will keep you going for years.

There was tv series about 20 years ago called Strange with Richard Coyle. I loved it but they didn’t recommission it for some reason. That reminded me of Jonathan Creek.

Thanks all for the suggestions, there's a couple mentioned that I love, Bones & The Mentalist so will definitely add these all to my list.
