Unlikely as the staff that actually do the scans aren't doctors. Radiologists, the doctors, read the scans so results will be delayed.

NHS medical director for secondary care Dr Vin Diwakar said: "People should continue to use the NHS as they usually would and attend their appointments as normal, unless they have been informed it has been rearranged."

There might be delays in interpretation of images as pp said but if you have an appointment and it’s not cancelled yet then it won’t be cancelled.

Sorry that first but was a quote from an article!

Ok thanks.
Should have checked website before posting.
Strike action by radiographers will be taking place at our hospitals from 8am on 25 July to 8am on 27 July.

It will impact some appts/procedures for which x-rays and scans are required. However, please attend hospital as planned unless we contact you.

My brother is a radiographer and I've just looked on Find my Phone and he's at work right now.

Check your hospital. Not all radiographers are on strike. My local hospital is working as normal.

The ballot was done by trusts so some trusts will be on strike and others not. Not everyone in a trust will be on strike either. If you haven’t heard anything then your scan will still be happening.

Shouldbehoovering · 25/07/2023 08:23

when I say ‘by trust’, it was organised by the SOR but numbers voting to strike within each trust were then calculated and a critical percentage was required for each trust to strike.

Ok,thanks.
Fingers crossed.
