Social media is full of stunning image with panelling, rose ceiling, huge windows and heavy curtains. All beautiful but do not belong in a “typical” house. For starters, everywhere I lived the radiator is always under the window, so the floor length curtains are out to let the heat circulate. It’s always 168cm curtains, bed against the main wall and some freestanding furniture. At best, I did a feature wall but not any more. How do you make the layout a little more cosy, interesting?
