Which spf?

Hi all, going to Turkey at the end of the week and need to buy spf for us all. Usually go for Boots soltan, the ‘once’ type for first thing then top up with the regular water resistant stuff. Always go for factor 50 for us all. This has always been ok, but it’s not cheap and I hate how sticky/hard to rub in the once stuff is. I know people seem to like ultrasun and p20, but it’s too expensive. What affordable options to you like? What's The Aldi or Asda one like? Thanks very much.

Altruist ? Good value yet effective

I always buy Ultrasun - it seems pricey but it lasts all day so is quite economical really. Also doesn’t bring me out in heat rash or facial spots

We usually go for Tesco’s ‘Soleil’ which is a bit of a rip off of Soltan. It rubs in well and is creamy rather than greasy. Cheaper than Soltan too!

Thanks both, is Alturist water resistant? Need something good for being in/out the pool constantly. Will reapply, but not every 10 minutes.
Like the sound of the Tesco one.

The aldi sprays are handy but are a bit sticky.
We got aerosol spf50 which was loads better.

I always buy Nivea in a squirty bottle. The one that looks like oil. It rubs in really well.

Altruist is my favourite, it's cheap, rubs in like body lotion and doesn't have a strong "suncream" smell.

Tesco soleil for us too, we’re off to turkey for a week on Wednesday and have packed 3 bottles F50 and bottles 3 F30. It’s rubs in well and smells really nice

dementedpixie · 24/07/2023 21:56

Don't get the tubes of Tesco sensitive soleil spf30 as it was really hard to rub in and seemed to sit on top of the skin.

I like the trigger spray nivea but couldn't find it this year except in the kids spray. Boots Soltan in a bottle was good and rubbed in well. Also liked the aldi or lidl clear spray stuff but not the asda one as it seemed to go grainy.

Have always used the aldi one. It's pretty good

I’ve just stocked up on Aldi sensitive factor 50. It says it’s extra water resistant, so a bit sticky but nothing like Boots once. It was only £2.99 a bottle so we’ll see how we get on. Hoping it’ll be good. Think I would have spent at least twice as much if we’d gone with Soltan like usual.
