Driving tests

DS failed his driving test today. 1st available test is 1st Nov.

We have signed up for the cancellations app Driving Test Now so hopefully will get an earlier date but are there any others worth looking at?

Tried Testi but it won't let me log in at all.

So gutted for him, he drives everywhere, even really long distances so he's more than ready to pass so it makes it so frustrating that you can't just book for 10 days time.

What you need to do is book a test anywhere in the country then the app picks it up

set the app to auto book but only in your chosen test centre and for all dates/times

Ive done this multiple times now with 2 kids. Normally within a day it bots you to a test at your preferred centre, at this point reset it as it pauses, so that it keeps moving you forward till you reach a date you want

its never failed so far for us, hopefully we won’t need it again (DD has her test this week) but if we do I can normally pick up a new test in a few days for less than a month away

The driving test one is always the most up to date

You just have to sit on it and keep refreshing

We got dd's moved from 31 Oct (original date booked in April) to
05 Oct
25 Sep
18 Aug
29 July

Thank you. Will keep my fingers crossed!

Good luck to your DD for a few days time.

The 2 main things to remember is have it set to auto book for you and re-enable each time it moves as it stops looking

Something I have been told is that they drop test dates for booking Mon and Tue morning.

Ive also noticed that we get certain times of the day come through again and again so I can only assume these are slots they hold incase the test centre have to cancel or move peoples tests

I hope this reassures you a bit, DS passed 3rd time and I used this app to bot him forwards from an 8 month distant test. DD. is on number 2🫣

I found there were often tests for the next few days. You just need to get alerts so you can pounce.

I think people cancel the week before when they don't feel ready.

Thank you, that's all really useful info. We will stay positive and keep our fingers crossed.

His instructor messaged and said he was gutted for him. Said that he felt the examiner was in the wrong (basically involved himself whilst DS was driving and probably shouldn't have) he said its a bit of a contentious subject amongst instructors about examiners doing this. At least that's reassuring that's he's ready, just means he needs to hold his nerve next time.
