What's stolen my milk?

We have a milkman, and an insulated milk box thing for the milk to go into.

Before we got the box birds were pecking the foil and drinking the top of the milk, all sorted with the box.

Last night something has taken the lid off the box, knocked it over and drunk the milk.

There are some marks on the box that could be pecks or teeth. We have loads of crows and magpies around at the moment and I think they are the cuplrit. DH thinks fox, we have plenty of those around too.

Humphrey?

Seeline · 24/07/2023 11:01

Probably a fox - they get into our food waste bins, and they have a locking mechanism.

NillyNoMates · 24/07/2023 11:02

A neighbour that’s annoyed at being woken up by the milkman in the early hours? 🤭

mintbiscuit · 24/07/2023 11:04

Crows are super clever. They would have sussed out how to access watching you.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 24/07/2023 11:09

Corvids. And they probably laughed as they were doing it.

Get a little camera and film it - and then share it on here!

Talipesmum · 24/07/2023 11:10

Do badgers drink milk?

Get a wildlife camera maybe?

OldTinHat · 24/07/2023 11:13

Humphrey?

That just shows you’re from a particular generation 🤣🤣

P.S. as I read it the song came into my mind so I’m also ‘that’ generation 🤣🤣

CattingAbout · 24/07/2023 11:17

Hedgehog?

Okdaisy · 24/07/2023 11:17

We had this with foxes, so annoying!

mindutopia · 24/07/2023 12:11

I think it’s still possible it could be crows/rooks. They get into absolutely everything.

The ones here just sit around waiting for you to leave something unattended. Flew off with a packet of bread rolls Dh left for 1 minute while we were prepping a BBQ. They also wait around for the chickens and ducks to just drop an egg somewhere random that isn’t in their house and bam they’re on it.

cocksstrideintheevening · 24/07/2023 12:14

I'm leaning towards the birds too although we
Do have a resident rather large hedgehog, would be rather difficult for him to get around to the front though we are mid terrace!

The fae, capricious, thieving, bastards!

Pringleface · 24/07/2023 12:29

Fox. We had one which kept knocking over the bottles to get the milk.

Humphrey?

Lolololol - I bet that's gone over a lot of heads. I still can't see a red and white striped straw without singing "watch out, watch out, watch out, watch out, there's a Humphrey about".
