Want to share my very happy news

DS1 has been draining the life out of me recently, with sickness then clinginess, also whinging and refusing naps.

I'm taking him to daycare tomorrow morning and husband is taking me to see Openheimer, he's booked seats for the 10am show Grin

Looks like cinema will be dead at that time. I'm so excited to have 3 hours of absolutely blissful peace. I'm going to get so many snacks too. I might even wash my hair and put makeup on.

Anyone else excited by mere simple things now, since they've become a parent?

My friend passed down a play gym and it keeps DS2 occupied enough that I can have my morning coffee in a normal mug*. It is one of the greatest joys of my life currently.

*after an accident with DS1 I only use a no spill travel mug with hot drinks while holding a baby, and DS2 does not like being put down.

Enjoy the cinema!

How old is your DS @Merrow ? Mine plays (runs around like a maniac) whilst I have a coffee but I still feel drained from constantly being ON mentally as a mother.
He didn't nap yest and I had a nice day out planned for us - so had to cancel everything. I get so exhausted by being led by this little person. All. The. Time.

4 months - the 4 year old is only slightly better at letting me have a coffee!

Enjoy the cinema!!

I feel you.

I'm currently having a few chilled minutes post-shower, lying on the bed while DS is napping and DD is downstairs keeping herself occupied with DSCs while DH supervises.

We have TONS to do today, I still need to pack all the bags & food for going to a large family gathering later, but for these 15 mins I'm enjoying some guilt free chilling.
