Neighbour noise help

my neighbours are very fond of sitting in the garden with some random radio station on fairly loudly. We have similar aged early primary aged kids and so I have no issue with screaming etc in garden. or just regular chatting. But the random music makes me feel unhinged. Help!!!

I just want to be able to enjoy my garden (we are lucky to be in a detached house so it’s only noise in the garden). I love just the noise of birds and the wind. I don’t mind lawnmowers etc.

I def have noise sensitivity. My husband is not affected by the music. It’s driving me crazy though. I wouldn’t feel comfortable talking to the woman. It’s not like they’re partying all night. It’s not excessively loud (to a normal person, it is to me!)

i have tried earplugs but they block everything and it’s really disconcerting outside. Also they hurt my ears.

would the flare earplugs help with this? Or those round ring-shaped ones? Does anyone have any tips/advice?

I don’t want to be this crazy noise-obsessed woman!! It’s awful.

[I had years of really bad experience with neighbour noise when I lived in a flat, through to asbo territory, years ago. I’ve always been sensitive to noise but worse since then ]

thanks for reading this far. I just want yo care less about it!!!

I know I’m being unreasonable - I just want to cope better with it

I have no solution but have the same issue. I'm so sensitive to noise and also live in a detached house but find neighbour noise so intrusive. I have a neighbour who plays music loudly and has a loud talking voice so I can hear every time they go out in their garden. One day I was sitting out enjoying the peace when the music was suddenly switched on and I just snapped. Shouted (politely) over the fence to turn the music down as I was trying to enjoy a peaceful cuppa in the garden. She's been quieter since.

I find it makes me anxious, but also irritates me because I'd never ever do anything to affect a neighbour enjoying their garden. I mean we do cut the grass or do DIY but always at sensible times or with a wee heads up. We don't play music in the garden, we don't burn stuff or have endless bbqs, we're polite and quiet and respectful of others.

Maybe we need to be neighbours , OP 🤣
