Could there be a dead bird behind my toilet?!

We have one of those fully boxed in toilets so you can't see the cistern or any of the plumbing. We also have a birds nest in the facia right above where the waste pipe comes out of the wall.

Today both cats were acting very odd, staring at the toilet and wouldn't leave the bathroom, thought they might be starting some kind of cult until I walked past and heard flapping and tweeting coming from behind the toilet!

I can only imagine that a bird must have somehow found a gap in the facia and gotten between the cavity wall, through the insulation and then through the hole where the waste pipe is into the boxed in toilet!

I think it was there from around 9am this morning, when the cats started to be wierd in the bathroom, till some time in the afternoon. We got home about 4pm and all was normal by then.

Do you think it has escaped again,or do I need to pull the box apart and try and find its body?! The last thing I want is it rotting but could it have died in such a short period of time?

Massive PITA to get behind there btw, would probably need a handyman/plumber out hence my reluctance to just have a look anyway just incase
