Considering move to Florida from the UK

We’re looking at a move to Florida (husband to work from West Palm Beach). Husbands work would be supporting the move it’s likely or would be perm rather than secondment. We have two young children - not of school age yet. Husband works for an American company and is there every two months. I grew up in Australia in a similar climate (humidity ok for me :) ) if you have do this before and have tips for salary negotiations would love to know!

I was wondering if anyone can help - I trained in Australia with an education undergraduate degree specialising in business food and textiles. From my searches thus far I cannot see very many international schools that are outside of Miami. Do my subject exist in the US system?

if my husband is sponsored by his workplace and I needed to retrain/work in another field is this something easy enough to do?

is there anyone in a similar position who I may be able to field a few more questions to?

Also, when do you need to enrol children into schools? - it’s likely our eldest may be entering kindergarten when they enter.

looking for a better work life balance and weather brings that!

Your husband’s salary will be dependent on his professional role and experience? You will most likely have to do some retraining. You might want to contact the school board for that county and start making enquiries. WPB is a very wealthy and expensive enclave.

Thanks that’s a helpful start to know that the county boards are where to start! Unfortunately I don’t think we’ll be able to afford to live in WPB, but we have scouted out areas we would like to live with good schools and amenities on our last trip there
