Quickest way of getting a SIM card?

My daughter lost her phone and she needs to go somewhere this afternoon and be contactable. Can I just get her one of those SIM cards you see in supermarkets ad sick it in an old phone?

If so, any recommendations?

It will need to be the same network as the phone is set to (or an unlocked phone).

Some of the sim cards also don't come with credit so you need to top it up.

All phones are unlocked now. So if it's from 12/2021 or newer it'll be fine

If the phone can support an eSIM that is the fastest way. Can order online, have emailed to you and then using the phone you want the eSIM on, you scan the QR code in the email with it. It self loads, activates and off you go.

No I think you just put the sim in and follow instructions.

Assuming this is just temporary you can buy eSIMs that have unlimited data for a week, two weeks, etc. These are usually marketed to tourists, like holafly but anyone can buy one online. Then once loaded on the phone, she can message you. She wouldn’t have a phone number/text ability. It would be just internet and messaging over the internet.

To get a SIM with a phone number you’d need to physically go and buy a card one from a shop.

We'll probably buy a card in that case, as realistically her phone is never going to be found 🙂
