It's DH's birthday and a big group of us are camping in Norfolk and it's going to rain all day and evening tomorrow (according to Daily Fail a months worth in one day). A couple of people have pulled out (I would too were it not me organising).

Bloody weather!!

Communal gazebo(s)?

Tents pitched in a tight circle, gazebo in the middle, wind breaks for cooking stuff, plenty of beer.

Not the same as no rain but perhaps if you can weatherproof your camp as much as possible. Blankets, mulled wine, hot chocolates

My sympathy. I hope there's a Premier Inn or similar nearby. It's going to be wet beyond salvaging I think.

We binned it off - a months worth of rain in 2 days and wind gusting up to 50mph here....

Agree about the communal tent for socialising. Plenty of layers of clothes. Extra tent pegs and make sure everyone understands how to use guy ropes....

Yup, we'll be in norfolk too. So tempted to delay going, but the kids would be sad to miss half the holiday. We're going to stick it out!

Luckily Sunday is looking better and it's okay tonight so we've changed the itinerary a bit and planning on spending tomorrow in the pub so not all bad I suppose. 😏

Not me, but several of my friends are going to Latitude which is in North Suffolk. I don't envy them!

Such a shame 😔

therainycamper · 23/07/2023 18:18

Sympathies!
We are going to the Lake District next week. The whole plan is around watersports.... 😂

To be fair, Friday was actually lovely, yesterday rained like I've not seen in years, it was relentless. But today has been lovely again. DD is still there with her friend and they're having a lovely time
