I've got Covid and feel rough!

That's all. It's the 2nd time ever for me to get it. I'm fully vaxxed. I mostly WFH anyway and have only been outside at a distance from people since I found out. Only tested as felt ill and aside from when I got Covid last time I'm very seldom ill. Was due to go to a hospital appt so tested and then called to reschedule. I need to go food shopping tomorrow so will wear a mask and be prepared for odd looks. I'm due to go away on holiday early next week. Rubbish timing!

I wouldn’t worry about the people looking at your mask, where I live in south east there’s still a fair few people who wear masks. I’m actually see more and more people over the last couple of weeks wearing them.

My eldest has it and also is feeling (and sounding) v rough. We think she picked it up either on holiday or the flight home last Sunday.

Hope you feel better soon

Thank you. Still feel bad and had a very long sleep last night. Not sure I'll be well enough to go away at this rate. We're meant to be driving to Brittany on Monday.

Urgh, poor you. I hope that you feel better asap!

I wouldn't worry about your mask. I'll be honest though and presume when I do see somebody with one on, they've likely got covid so I keep away from them. At least you'll be wearing one.

TappingTed · 21/07/2023 07:08

Awww you poor thing @penberth
I had it in March and it was crappy. The fatigue was awful, and I’m not a tired type person at all but I just slept for days and needed a second week signed off. Sorry but I highly doubt you’d be fit for driving to France… but if someone else is driving and you’ve nothing much planned there to do except chill…

LlynTegid · 21/07/2023 07:21

Could you have a food delivery instead?

penberth · 21/07/2023 11:47

I might see if a friend can pick up a few bits for me. I'm hearing a lot of people locally complaining of colds and wheezy chests in the past few days. Could be hayfever too I guess, or Covid!

Hope you feel better soon, OP. Only had it once and I felt awful - had to get tested for work and felt totally spaced out driving and found it hard to focus.

Meadowflower2023 · 21/07/2023 12:03

Sympathies OP, I've tested positive this morning too, first time having Covid for me. It was the body aches that's shocked me, never felt a thing like it, my whole body felt like lead for 2 days. I also felt spaced out when driving to town on Wednesday @ifonly4, I couldn't wait to get back 😬.
