What’s Happening In Your House?

In need of a comforting thread! DD14 has been absolutely horrendous today, sending me vile texts & being verbally aggressive, so a distraction would be very welcome. What are you all up to? DH is at work til 8 then we’re having an easy tea of pasta, pesto & peas & catching up with last night’s Corrie. I’m working my way through a bottle of Aussie Chardonnay. Need to put the bunnies to bed in about an hour. I was worried about our oldest boy earlier, especially as he’s never poorly, but I think it was just the heat as he’s perked right up thank goodness. Still amazes me how much my furry friends have come to mean to me. Love them loads ❤️🐰
Making plans for DH’s birthday trip next month ( his 60th) & starting to really look forward to some time away just the two of us. We’re going to a couple of West End shows.

I am led on my bed utterly exhausted from my mum’s funeral yesterday. I can hear the kids playing nicely downstairs but will get them to shower and get in bed shortly. I regret not buying any chocolate earlier now!

Needcoffeeimmediatley · 20/07/2023 20:04

I'm about to have a long shower and get my DS stuff ready for the last day of school tomorrow (also need to mentally prepare myself for getting through the next 6 weeks!)

Then I think I'll slump on the sofa and find something to watch on Netflix.
Not very exciting!

lucysmam · 20/07/2023 20:05

Sorry your dd's been horrible @RabbitsRock , I hope the wine's helping? Nice to see the bunny's ok though!

@McConkeysPlate I hope yesterday went well, sorry for your loss 💐

I'm chilling on here & have Food Network on for background noise. I want to pick up my crochet but am actually quite tired so probably won't bother - I'll only have to pull it when I mis-count then I'll get frustrated at myself.

I had an appointment today that I waited 2.5 hours after the time slot for, then it took all of five mins for a super quick check in 🙄 Would have been soooo much more efficient, and less costly all round, done over the phone. The burger van was on the park on our way back for the bus though, so wasn't a total waste of time 😋

Dd1's in the shower atm, not a clue what her plans are when she's done - possibly stick the lashes she gave up on this morning.

Dd2's VERY loudly discussing make up with her friend, on speakerphone. I can hear the friend from downstairs! She was going to straighten her hair but seems to have forgotten she'll wait til I've gone to bed then I'll end up listening to the straighteners beep while she does it 🙄

Just got DD (3) and DS (1) down. Having a glass of wine and regretting not buying a bottle! Dinner in 10 mins - chicken tray bake. Trying to work out what to watch on TV. Thinking about all the things I need to do tomorrow - kids are at nursery, I’m WFH, have some household bits to do in between (laundry, house needs a clean, beds need doing, DH is out tomorrow night so need to get organise before I pick up the kids).

Sorry you’ve had a hard day OP Flowers

SomethingNastyInTheGenePool · 20/07/2023 20:12

I’m sorry you’ve had a crappy day,@RabbitsRock, and I’m sorry for your loss @McConkeysPlate. My mum died in November and it’s a lot to process. Look after yourself and take things gently.

I’m sitting on the sofa while DP finishes off supper. I made the pesto and now he’s frying some courgettes and cooking tagliatelle.
DD is asleep upstairs, plum tuckered out after a very early wake up. We were going to take her to an introductory kids’ theatre thing this evening but she really wasn’t up to it and it would have gone badly.

We might watch a bit more “And Just Like That”, which is dreadful but we can’t stop watching. Then an early ish night bed with book, I think.

Watching Netflix docs while nursing the worst toothache I've ever had! If its not better by morning I'm trying for a emergency appt. Got the windows open, fan on, cooling down a cup of tea. Had some tandoori chicken and mushroom rice, DH is being a saint and just back from getting me more painkillers. Cats lying on bed, house tidy and minimal aim part through a 'Kon Marie' clear out, it's great not seeing clutter! On Google looking for new trainers and new sofas. Bunnies sound lovely!

We are watching the golf, drinking wine and chatting. Very calm and quiet here. Our DDs are adults and no longer living at home so we live a very quiet and tranquil life.

MuMmaOf3littles · 20/07/2023 20:31

Currently sat in a room on the children's ward at our local hospital with my DS who's 9 days old. Was only here Sunday evening due to jaundice and now back here again after the midwife sent us due to a big weight loss since Sunday. I'm so tired and sore after an emergency c-section last week, my bed is absolutely calling me, but need to get this little boy thriving!

MintJulia · 20/07/2023 20:32

DS is munching cheese & tomato omelette and chips, and I'm about to eat salmon & veggie rice.

We just loaded both bikes in the car, I'm almost packed and then DS & I are off to the welsh borders for a week's cycling and paddle boarding tomorrow lunchtime. 😊

I'm lying on my bed in half of my pyjamas; I've put the top half on but can't find the trousers. Looking at the quilted undersheet on my bed telling myself (again) that I need to put a sheet on my bed. Mind you, my duvet doesn't have a cover on it either. My pillow does have a very pretty pillowcase on though. Really ought to go to the loo and eat an evening meal but cba. It's been a stressful day due to family life and I'm enjoying the peace now when everyone is in their rooms. I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

BMrs · 20/07/2023 22:14

I've been playing cricket this evening as okay for a ladies team and just arrived home, both kids already in bed so had a lovely bath with a book while my DH finished some work
