I should know this, but I wasn’t allowed any form of bra at all until I was 16 (I nicked one from a charity shop out of desperation at 14, which obviously didn’t fit
but I struggled on with it until I left home and got a job at 16), so don’t even have any personal experience to draw on.

My Dd is asking for one. She’s nearly 10. I don’t know what to get her first. Yes, I know should be more clued up - please don’t think I’m an awful parent, I just don’t know where to start with this and I don’t really have anyone IRL to ask.

Wheres the best place to get her something comfortable? Supermarkets? I’ve never looked.

Does she have boobs yet? If she's got something to put in it then you could get her measured at M&S then try a load on until you find one that fits.

If it's just about wanting one to wear then id be more relaxed and look at supermarket crop tops, yes

Next, Primark or M&S all do the little first crop top type bra.
We had a pack of 3 type deal from next and they just went on age size if it's more for the look of it and to fit in etc.
They were comfy and my DD's like them.
When they needed it we just ordered various sizes and tried on at home for proper bra's as they wouldn't go for a fitting.

I got mine from Tammy Girl.

Yes we get them from Asda, DD wears them under football/pe tops where the embroidered badges irritate her. They have stretchy sports type ones and cotton bralet types, you could order a few to try at home.

M&S for my 10yo 😊

And you're not an awful parent, you're a lovely parent for wanting to get it right for her 💐

M&S do cropped tops and then a “junior” bra range. For most at 10 it’s more about feeling more grown up or not being able to see your nipples through tops!

pastypirate · 20/07/2023 19:17

Morrisons of all places js where we bought them for the dds.

Op I recall my parents refusing crop tops back in the 80's 90's and other shit parenting choices.

Nothing wrong with crop tops who wants nipples showing through school blouses!

No, nothing noticeable but she does a lot of sport and says it’s getting a bit uncomfortable.

I’m headed into the shopping centre tomorrow - I’ll have a look in M&S and asda there.

Thank you!

River Island has some nice ones.

Dd10 loves the H&M range. She says they’re soft and comfy
