Next lost my £180 parcel, where did it go?

I ordered about 12 things for me and kids for a upcoming holiday delivered to store. I got a text saying it was delivered, but the store Couldn't find it. A week later it was saying collected in my account but I didn't have it.

Can't fault Next as they refunded it. The store think someone put in my parcel number by mistake but that seems unlikely. I have a unsaul non Englush surname and it's usual in my country.

The need to check the postcode.

I think the IT system just marked it as delivered as I did go into store and enter the number but at a totally different date and time. Its made me wary about ordering to store again.

Sorry surname is unusual in native country too I mean. It's a rare surname basically

I had a message saying mine had been collected when I hadn't collected it. They couldn't find it at first which was worrying but they have a computer you put code in then someone brings out the parcel and they confirm your name and postcode she said no way has it been collected by someone else. The very helpful lady contacted someone I assume the people who deliver it and stash it and she was able to get the exact location in the store room and found all 3 parcels. I don't know if that helps.

Next have a barcode system meaning every item you order is for your account number.

Thanks, yes I had to put my collection code into the machine and they searched the store room that day for it. I left the store thinking it might turn up, but in that time it's status changed to collected whereas I was expecting a call to say they had found it, or it would be cancelled after the collection deadline. But it was marked as delivered and they couldn't tell me why but the store was sure it had been given out by mistake. Its very odd. I don't see how it could have been given out by mistake.

That would make sense. It's put me off ordering anything expensive to store. It was only my second store order
