We live just outside edinburgh and until 2019 we went in for the kids shows every year. Now though my kids are 16 and 12. Anyone know of any good shows that are on? 16 yr old ds is into sport and history. 12 yr old Dd is into pop music, tiktok, the usual.

I've tried searching the fringe site and googling but nothing jumps out.

We're heading to Edinburgh next week with 15 & 13 year olds and would love to hear anyone's recommendations too? Maybe comedy or dance?

I've seen 2 amazing things already this year (both theatre) -

In Loyal Company (on at the Pleasance Courtyard at 1.30pm) - based on a true world war 2 story. Incredibly acted and moving, we were gripped and haven't stopped telling people about it since. Definitely good for teens / older kids , lots to talk about afterwards and a really good historical insight.

Quality of mercy (surgeons hall 5.35pm) - a play about Harold Shipman, quite dark (obviously) but really well done and very respectful of the victims. Would be fine for the 16 year old but not the 12.

For comedy / musical, we see showstopper at the pleasance grand every year - a big production, v funny and an easy watch!

@nopeasplease Thanks for those suggestions. I'm also a local with kids who have grown out of the children's shows, but still too young for much of what is on offer. I think we may give the Harold Shipman tale a miss, but the other two look good.

Yes it's tricky! The 'family' stuff is often aimed way too young we have found

Thanks @nopeasplease the first suggestion looks perfect for ds
