DD was a pretty horrific delivery - failed epidural and forceps and episiotomy and anaesthesia free stitching for various reasons which were apparently clinically appropriate. I don’t talk about it a lot and never with pregnant friends, for obvious reasons.
Anyway, about 20 minutes ago I was toasting a Scotch pancake in the toaster and it got stuck. Tried a few things to get it out and in the end turned the toaster on its side, unplugged it and used two forks to get it out.
As said pancake came free I realised I was essentially recreating my daughters delivery and for some daft reason collapsed into hysterical giggles 😁
DD is 3 next month. So if anyone’s keeping score, entirely on the basis of my personal experience, it’s 3 years before you can laugh about it!
(serious note: suspect it might be still part of a trauma response to be laughing about this, but it’s a welcome departure from wanting to cry about it, so I will welcome it!)
