Which robovac?

The official mumsnet list suggests eufy but was after real accounts of which ones you found to be the best. I'll continue with my lumbering hoover for carpets but I'm thinking of this for hard floors downstairs. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Eufy is crap. There’s a known error where if the room is too sunny it thinks it’s going to fall down the stairs and gives up on life so it can only work with the curtains closed. Quite literally it’s a vampire. It also can’t deal with rugs and leaves little dust deposits all round the edges. We have the self emptying roomba now (the i7 I think) and it’s so much better.

Ooh thank you, do you mind telling me which model you recommend? Not heard of roomba but thanks for saving me from eufy!

We have a EUFY and absolutely love it and no idea what PP is talking about - although it IS true that it struggles with realising stairs are there if they'r light coloured.

I believe Roomba's are also excellent.

My top tip is buy the highest suction you can afford. We had, I think, 1500 and it was good and then upgraded to 2000 and it was amazing!

Never pay full price for a EUFY. There are always deals, discounts etc.

Thanks Ginger, whixh one do you have? And I've been looking at Amazon but did you find a better place?

I think this is the one we have - they all look similar and I got mine on the EUFY website as at the time they were doing a deal AND they gave me a further discount as I'd smashed my old one. MIL got this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07RBSNRVX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I paid 50% less for mine and 40% less for MIL's than full advertised price.

I’m not making it up promise!

We had it in a flat so no stairs to get confused with and customer service (who are pretty good actually) said that was the issue and refunded us without us actually asking- we had asked for a replacement thinking it was faulty. It’s also here in their troubleshooting:

The rug issue granted may have been due to low suction because we had a cheap model.

I love my Eufy and happy to recommend, we have dark floors and mid beige colours and Eufy works well on both.

The sunlight thing is hilarious! We haven't had a problem but I almost wish we had - would be very funny to see!
