Comfortable school shoes- recommendations??

looking for some new school shoes for dd going into year 6. Every pair of shoes seem to give her awful blisters and then she doesn’t want to wear them enough to break them in. School have allowed black trainers in the past, which she’s ended up wearing most of this year but she won’t be allowed to in the new school year. Any recommendations for comfortable shoes?

We have this problem to for nearly 9yo. Resorted to competed blister plasters to get through this half term.

I wish school uniforms would be completely changed. Plain trousers and black trainers for all.

Haven't tried these out yet, but M&S have black leather girls brogues that have excellent reviews and come in different width options. I'm considering these for DD12 who will need black school shoes for the first time, but I'll have to order online as our local store didn't stock them

Where do you buy them from and are they properly fitted?

Weve got a fantastic independent shoe shop near us that properly fits them (unlike clarks!) and we’ve never had a problem. Obviously means they are more £50 than £15 though

My daughter has worn M&S boys shoes for past 4 or 5 years and finds them comfy enough to play football in the playground.

Ricosta, Ecco and Geox are our shoes of choice until recently.

DD could get blisters from Clark's and Start-Rite after one hour wearing them.

We went to an independent children shoe shop, yes you pay £££ but we hardly ever had to replace outside being outgrown.

My youngest is about to finish Y6 and my eldest is in Y9. I've bought a lot of school shoes in the last decade. M&S are excellent quality, durable and not too speedy. Only beaten by Start Rite at twice the price.

Those are what DS wore, and now dd (we've had other styles, but mostly those!). It was a sad day when ds's feet got too big. If you're ordering online, beware that they come up about 0.5 size bigger than Clark's.

Sketchers do leather slip ons that are very comfortable xx

The m&s ones look good, looking online even the girls shoes look nice and sturdy, sometimes girls shoes have such little padding compared to boys shoes but the brogues nicely padded. I used to get all the school shoes from shoe zone for the cheap prices, tried out clarks for dd and honestly they weren’t much better than the cheap ones
