Noisy kids in shared garden (another one)

Sorry, I know there are countless threads on this but the search function is so bad so can't find any.

What's the consensus on when it's the polite time to stop kids shouting loudly in the garden of an evening?

Not that it makes any difference but it's a shared front garden square (although not as posh as it sounds, 60s housing 😂). They also have a smaller private back garden.

They're new so I won't be saying anything and it could well be a one off, but I've been fortunate not to have to pay attention to such threads! Just really struggling after a crap day at work, my two year old is complaining about the noise and heat (have had to close the windows) and the four year old reckons he doesn't need to be in bed if others aren't. I'm approaching the end of my tether...

In summer I’d say noise till 9pm is ok.

This is so easy to say when it’s not you living it… Children outside on a shared front garden till 9 pm every night? I wonder how many people would really be quite so relaxed over it when it disturbs their peace and quiet late in the evening.

OP is there anyway you can speak with your neighbours and explain that it’s keeping your DC awake? I think it’s a totally reasonable request to ask that it doesn’t go on after a certain time.

Anything after 9pm starts to get a bit unreasonable.

Normal to have children playing out the front on light evenings in the summer.

What makes you assume I’ve never lived with noise from outside?

Personally I let my kids play out till 8, but I wouldn’t complain about other people’s noise until 9.

As I said, they're really new so I'm hoping it's a one off. Just musing as to what would be deemed reasonable. If it turns out to be a habit I would definitely ask them to stop shouting. No issue obviously with them being outside nor 'talking' noise levels.
