How many people live in your household?

truelips · 18/07/2023 16:10

I live in a big studio flat with 3 small children for. For now it works. I feel comforted having my kids around me as it wasn't so long ago it was only me! I feel sorry for those who live alone and are lonely 😞 like if something happened to me I'd like to know people would notice.

Put 0 if you live alone

Me and DP in a little 2 bed terrace. We like it.

DramaAlpaca · 18/07/2023 19:17

Five bed house - me, DH and our youngest adult DS. Plus the dog. The two eldest DC have flown the nest thank goodness

Bearpawk · 18/07/2023 19:24

People who live alone aren't necessarily lonely.

yikesanotherbooboo · 18/07/2023 19:25

5 (+ a student at times)
4 adults and a baby.

Flymetothetoon · 18/07/2023 19:40

3 adults 3 cats - the cats rule the roost (naturally)

RumNotRun · 18/07/2023 19:43

I live on my own (with cats). I'm not lonely, don't need anyone feeling sorry for me or whatever. I love living on my own.

Fair enough if people are happy with lots of others around them, but not for me thanks. For instance OP, your set up with 3 kids and you in a studio apartment is my idea of hell. Horses for courses and all that.

Agree with this. I had a period of living alone pre husband and kids and bloody loved it.

YerAWizardHarry · 18/07/2023 19:44

2 full time, 1 child 50% of the time and one child EOW/2 evenings through the week

Maybe we should be including cats in the count.

I've lived alone and loved it too with and without 🐱 cats so I do understand what some of you are saying. But I also know some people who have kids or partners who've left for whatever reason and are lonely living by themselves.

2 adults, one teenager, one cat. It's enough.

Idratherbepaddleboarding · 18/07/2023 20:43

3; me, DH, DS (14) and a dog.

Deadringer · 18/07/2023 20:46

7 altogether. 6 adults, 1 teen, a dog and 2 cats. It feels overcrowded tbh.

HelenMirrensWeightedBlanket · 18/07/2023 20:47
  1. Me plus cat.

I’ve lived alone for 25 years and I absolutely love it. I’d never live with someone out of choice.

Nugg · 18/07/2023 20:49

0 dog and cat

caringcarer · 18/07/2023 20:49

4 people in our household me, DH, DS and FS. DS moves out in a week he's bought his house and is just waiting for the carpet fitter. It's a 6 bedroom house and I want to downsize but DH refuses.

WhatHaveIFound · 18/07/2023 20:49

5 adults at the moment. There's me, DH, DD & her boyfriend and DS. Luckily it's a big house.

Mealtimes are complicated as we have vegan, veggie & GF in the house.

MamaDollyorJesus · 18/07/2023 20:53

GeraltsBathtub · 18/07/2023 16:20

If you work surely people would notice if you didn’t turn up to work, even if you lived on your own.
It’s me plus DP. 4 (5?) people in a studio sounds intense - I wouldn’t cope without being able to have some time/space to myself.

You would think so but one of my work from home days is my colleagues non-working day so unless I have to call into the office I could go the whole day & not speak to anyone from work! I could be lying in my bed dead or sleeping for all they know!

It's just me & DD(21) in our house OP - I love it when she's away to her boyfriends for the weekend & look forward to the day she moves out.

bellsandwhistles333 · 18/07/2023 21:06

4 full time... me DH his 17 year old daughter and our 5 year old son.

JorisBonson · 18/07/2023 21:09

2 adults, 2 cats

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 19/07/2023 21:36

Well, it was imthe right tone to respond to your query, OP. If you weren’t rude and presumptuous yourself, you’d get kinder answers. Very unpleasant thread. Well, your post is, the answers are interesting/ fun to read.

To be fair, I do get that although you could have phrased the OP better.

My mum died in May, my parents had been together since 1967 & my dad is now living on his own for the first time. That’s very different from doing it by choice.

Therunecaster · 24/07/2023 08:01

Me, DP, My Dad, 3 kids, one who is at Uni most of the time and 3 dogs

Interviewdoldrums · 24/07/2023 08:39

Me, 21 year old ds during uni holidays, 19 year old dd who is working and living at home, 17 year old dd, 2 cats and a guinea pig.

Iamclearlyamug · 24/07/2023 09:23

Currently just me and DD11 in a large 2 bed 2 bath flat.

When DP moved in with his DS18 it'll be a busy place indeed 🤦‍♀️
