Anyone recently returned an item to Sports Direct?

Have got a pair of trainers that I purchased online that I’d like to return. I know they only use to issue credit notes or exchanges, not refunds, however looking on their website under returns it mentions refunds.

Also the trainers that I ordered have been lowered in price now - am I likely to get back what I paid for them or the price they are now?

You should get the price you paid if you have the receipt and it was within the time period they specify for returns. I’ve never known anyone get actual cash back though in store.
I think the bit on the website about refunds, as it’s under the online purchases bit, is just part of that info. There are different rules for online orders, I think due to distance selling regulations.

Anything purchased online you have to be given the option of a refund but for Sports Direct you have to pay the cost of postage unless the item is damaged etc.

You’ll get what you paid but it will all have to be done via website
stores don’t deal with online

If you bought online you'll need to return by post. Only goods bought instore can be taken back to a shop

You will have to pay to return them. I brought a pair of trainers from SD online. They didn't fit. Cost me £5 to return
. Fuming !

I loathe SD with their returns policy

dementedpixie · 18/07/2023 14:41

According to their website they provide a returns label through their portal.

If you pay to return the whole order then they should refund the original delivery charge

I guess this is a lesson learnt not to buy clothing and footwear from Sports Direct Online. £5 return fee, I take it they won't be refunding the £5 paid in sending it out either.

I can see that having a policy limiting the number of returns would be useful in stopping people taking the mick, but this £10 for nothing is off putting shopping with them again.

They sent me the wrong size - ie not even the one I ordered - and still wanted £5 for posting it back! However when I went into store to buy the correct size they said I could have just swapped in store, even though the website says they wouldn't.
