Trying to get off benefits with a disability

Has anyone done this? Please can you share how you did it, particularly if you have treatment that whacks you out for weeks at a time.

It is so hard and being unwell has meant I’ve lost all my professional networks skills

People keep telling me there’s lots of jobs about but there’s very few that can cope with my illness and offer the flexibility I need.

I absolutely hate relying on benefits and want my old life and income back!

You are eligible for disability benefits so try to accept them as your a citizen in this society who looks after it’s sick people.
You could still work and claim benefits perhaps as a self employed person so you can pick and choose your work at a manageable level.

I’ve been told if I go self employed I will lose my LCWRA which is quite a big chunk of my UC and I cannot survive without it if I’m self employed in the early months as would have to build something from scratch.

I did ask them last week and sadly this is the issue

DWP are twats then. Hardly seems worth it to try working than to lose the LCWRA money.
