Christening gift for a boy

I have been invited to a colleague’s son christening. I like her, been to her house warming party, her wedding, birthdays etc. There is a party afterwards, and knowing her it’ll be a 15 course feast.
I’m really not sure what to get as a present. If you had or have been to a christening recently, what made a good present?
She has a little garden, would a tree in a pot be appropriate? Money?

Premium Bonds make a good gift for a child.

I’m not a christian, so my go-to for Christening gifts is a selection of books that they’ll enjoy as a baby, child, teenager and adult. I try to choose ones which have a particular relevance, and write a little inscription in each.

DS got a tankard with his name and christening date on it which gets used regularly. Not a pint! It's either a nip or a half.

Gifts I remember from my DS's christening - 20 years ago!

A Fisher Price toy which he loved and played with a lot at the time and for a couple of years afterwards.

A hand-painted clock with his name and christening date on it - from a neighbour who got it at a craft fair. I still have the clock.

A hip flask, with a note attached that it wasn't to be used till the (date of his 18th birthday). I managed to keep this safe and give it to my DS when he turned 18!

A keg ring with the date of birth on. ( for later use, obvs ) We’ve done silver ingots, but Etsy has different options.
