Icey Pole (taught by my mother from London).

I was wondering if it was mainly a Welsh thing lol.
I want to start calling them chilly willies now though, my boys would think it was hilarious Grin

I didn't realise others didn't know that one - my mum (who says Chilly Willy) is actually Welsh!

Shoemadlady · 18/07/2023 12:45

Tip tops

DunnoZoo · 18/07/2023 12:46

Zooper Doopers

TheOrigRights · 18/07/2023 12:51

I call them popsicles.
When I saw on here that no one else does I looked it up and see that popsicle is what they call them in Canada and the US.
We spend the summer of 1977 in the US so I must have been introduced to them there.

I also learned to pronounce mall the US way - mawl rather than mall, which threw me when malls started to become more common in the UK.
n.b. I don't think I used the term mall until the Castle Mall was built in Norwich in 1993.

Itsagrandoldteam · 18/07/2023 12:51

I grew up in the midlands and we called them tip tops.

My son calls them ice pops, we live in the north west now.

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 18/07/2023 12:52

Cool Pops in ROI

Clevs · 18/07/2023 12:55

Ice poles. I sometimes refer to the shorter ones as ice pops, the long ones are always ice poles though.

The only time I call them Mr Freeze is if it is an actual branded Mr Freeze one.

Roughashouses · 18/07/2023 13:03

Ice poles - London

hellswelshy · 18/07/2023 13:04

Tip tops - yes I'm Welsh!

wherethecityis · 18/07/2023 13:09

Have never ever heard them called ice poles.
They're tip tops.

yellowsmileyface · 18/07/2023 13:09

Growing up they were always "ice lollies" but I can't stand the word "lolly"! Makes me shudder.

I call them popsicles.

Rudimental · 18/07/2023 09:46

Ice Poles, right?

Definitely ice poles. There was no such thing as an ice pop when I was a kid.

mewkins · 18/07/2023 13:12

Hedgesgalore · 18/07/2023 10:28

Tip tops here in Wales.

Jubblies were the frozen cup things, properly showing my age😂

You can still get jublees. They are the triangle cardboard things 😁

I'm East Midlands. I can understand most but I cannot comprehend this ' tip top ' business!!

Tip Top was a brand name, so Tip Top Freezepops. I call them ice pops.

Choccyp1g · 18/07/2023 13:28

Tip Tops in South Wales, and the triangular things were Jublees.

FiaMarrow · 18/07/2023 13:32

Mr Freeze (I'm Welsh but clearly going against the grain)

ginandvomit · 18/07/2023 13:56

dikwad · 18/07/2023 14:12

elp30 · 18/07/2023 15:34

@TheOrigRights

I'm Texan and we call those "Ice Pops" or "Freezer Pops".

"Popsicles" are specifically the ones with sticks because we call the sticks, "popsicle sticks".

MsCupcake · 18/07/2023 15:37

Definitely Tip Tops, South Midlands

Tiredjoanna · 18/07/2023 15:37
