Been up all night with horrific D. Totally incontinent. Think I was moderately constipated and cleared the blockage.

Tried to take Imodium but then the V started.

I’m assuming this is a side effect of Ozempic after 11 weeks with no side effects.

What to I do?? Every fart brings another bout.

Don’t know much about Ozempic but there’s a gastro bug around, could well be that. Don’t take Imodium, just have small sips of water frequently and ride it out.

Sounds more like a bug. Take electrolytes and rest.

I've just had a bug OP, the horrific nausea and dry heaves vanished after 24hrs, the waterfall diarrhoea subsided in frequency over the first day but I still had a few bouts on days 2 and 3.

Absolutely fine now, 5 days later. As a PP said, sip fluids and ride it out, it'll be over quickly.

Hope you feel better soon!

Don’t take Imodium, drink plenty of water and stay home today.

Thank you all for responding.

I took the Imodium before seeing your messages. What's the issue with taking it? It seems to have helped.

The general consensus (in my opinion) is that it is better to let the virus run it's course, rather than retain it for longer by artificially slowing down the bowel activity (using immodium) and "trapping the bug inside", potentially prolonging the illness.

I'm neither doctor nor microbiologist, but personally I doubt that a virus attacking the cells lining your intestines, causing them to rapidly draw in - and then eject - water, can simply be shat out, otherwise we'd be better after the first 25 rounds. I also think that your white cells will continue to ferociously fight off the invading cells regardless of how many times you poop, so it doesn't matter much - go for comfort I say!

But I'm not a doctor as I said, that's just what I believe. Are you feeling better?
