Any piercers here? Cream for keloid!

Hi! I have a helix piercing that I think is developing a keloid 😩 it’s four months old.
I had my tragic music pierced in Spain years and years ago, which also developed a small keloid bump. I was horrified. I went back to the piercer who gave me a tube of some magical cream, that made it completely disappear. Couldn’t believe it. But I can’t remember the name of the cream! Hoping someone can advise me? Would love to repurchase now. Thanks

I had my TRAGUS pierced, not tragic music 😝 though my taste in music is questionable 😝

No advice OP but bumping for you as am in a similar situation myself!

No advice - but I had a keloid scar on ear piercing which was removed by an operation and I also had a steroid injection to prevent regrowth which worked a treat! Not heard of any creams!!

I’m guessing it was maybe some sort of steroid cream? No idea though!

Bio Oil worked very well on my daughters keloid scar.

Yes! I am sure it must have been a steroid cream based on my research and how crazy quickly it worked!

Steroid cream did nothing for me but salon sorted it really quickly. I know piercers say never to use it but it worked!

CannotBelieveImAskingThis · 17/07/2023 21:57

Seasalt soak twice daily for a while will also do it. 😊

Thanks! What is salon, what did you use? Maybe it wasn’t steroid cream I was given 🤔

I started to get one on my nose piercing of all places!! I'd been SO careful with it too. I rang my piercer and their advice was 1. Downsize then 2. Leave it well alone and within 1 week, gone.

It might not be a keloid, my helix piercing came up with a lump too, but it could be just a fluid bump and a smaller piercing and leaving it to rest may well do the trick.

I tried creams, saline, castor oil and any other google solution I could find, but nada.

Speak to your piercer, or a GP if infected - or both! Good luck OP x

Oops total spell check issue! I meant to write Savlon!!

Was it this? It's a miracle for scars www.contractubex.com/all-about-scars/problematic-scars/

CarPour · 17/07/2023 23:05

Kelocote?

ChaChaRealSmooth · 17/07/2023 23:06

Was it betnovate cream by any chance?

Cirice · 17/07/2023 23:07

How fond of it are you? The easiest way is to remove the piercing, let it heal and try again in a few months time.
I’ve used hydrocortisone steroid cream before but it thins the skin so not advisable for long term.

I feel your pain, I lost a nose piercing to a keloid, took it out and re did it a year later where it healed perfectly. It can be luck of the draw.

For now try hot sea salt water, as hot as you can stand it. Just hold it to the lump, don’t be tempted to movie the piercing because that just aggravates what is a healing wound.

Speak to a professional, they will be able to tell you whether you can save it or not. Good luck.

Kelocote?

Kelocote is the only thing that works on real keloids. If you used Bio oil , steroid cream and other things in a scar and it got better that's because it wasn't a real keloid

Grind up an aspirin with a little water to make a paste. Put it on. Leave for 30-40 mins and wash off. Repeat after 48 hours if it doesn't work first time. It really works!
